I'm so excited to announce that my pastel painting, 'Cherries', has been published in the latest issue of Azizah Magazine!
'Cherries', pastel, 25" x 19"
Pastel was the first art medium that I used when I started my professional career as a portrait artist. This medium is quick, requires no drying time and a lighter color can be painted over a darker color. I completed this painting in two days. I could never complete such a large painting so quickly with colored pencil with such short notice.
Painting with pastel gives me the freedom to put my colors on the paper, at least at the beginning stage. I only focus on the subject details towards the end, as I build up my layers of colors until they look realistic.
This, larger than life sized cherries, painting is currently hanging in my living room.
